Advanced Project Management

Course Number:  098-RS
Recommended Duration:  2 Days

Intended Audience: Project leaders

Course Overview
Projects today are often complex, global, multi-functional, and even include virtual project teams. In addition to the classic project management techniques dealing with scope, schedule, and cost management, project leaders are being called upon to manage this increased complexity and diversity. To do this effectively, project leaders need to understand the principles of project management as they pertain to areas such as suppliers, quality, configuration management, systems engineering, and contract selection and management. Effective leadership is also critical in complex projects. Organizational development, staffing and communication skills in combination with an understanding of situational leadership are keys to success. Each of the Knowledge Areas identified in the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Book of Knowledge will be addressed.
