Course Overview
Project managers are faced with planning and executing a set of tasks that are filled with the unknown and the unexpected. Many of these projects are expected to deliver significant impact to the business. Managers of project managers must balance the need for oversight to deal with the unexpected and the bureaucracy caused by micro-management. This course is divided into two parts. The first will discuss the key points within the project management process where senior management can have a dramatic positive influence on the outcome of the projects. The course will also review project control methods and measurements. The second part will address the strategies and execution of Project Management Offices. When used well they will accelerate project performance, when used incorrectly, they stifle project execution.
