Intended Audience
Data processing and data communications professionals who have mastered basic data communications and require an overview of the LAN and PC workstation environment.
Objectives
This course will provide an overview of LAN components, terminology and business applications. The LAN hardware and software selection process will be discussed. The differences and similarities between the LAN-based workstation environment and IBM mainframe-based terminal in a wide-area telecommunications network (WAN) environment will be defined.
Prerequisites
The "Basic Data Communications" course or equivalent experience.
