Intended Audience
Managers and personnel with a background in data processing and/or data communications. Students could be involved in planning, administering or using LAN and LAN-related technology.

Objectives
This course will provide an overview of LAN technology with the primary focus on LAN applications and LAN technical components required to support LAN-based applications. LAN topologies, media, data flows and comparisons will be defined. The course will define connectivity alternatives between LANs and other LANs and between mainframes, minicomputers and LANs.

Prerequisites
Completion of the "Basic Data Communications" or equivalent experience.
